Radix LMS updates - May 1, 2023
Please find the updates we have rolled out since the last one. Please click on the corresponding links to learn more. They are labeled based on the primary target role and related plugin.
Conduct log/Commendation notifications to parents/students.
NEW FEATURE DISCIPLINESTUDENTS & PARENTS
Students and their registered parents can now be notified via Radix Notifications and/or email when a conduct log or commendation is entered. Site admins can set lock this in the site notification preferences or allow the users to turn it on/off in their user preferences.
Parent account invitations
NEW FEATURE PARENT PORTALPARENTS & ADMINS
School admins can now invite parents to create an account within the Radix LMS. This will eliminate printing/downloading and sending access codes to parents manually. Parents will follow the directions in the invitation email to create an account or add their student(s) to their accounts. The invitation emails can only be sent to parents with custody of the student(s). Parents can always opt out of these invitation emails.
Change or remove teachers from courses via Radix Scheduling
IMPROVEMENT SCHEDULING ADMINS
In addition to assigning teachers to courses, admins can now change or remove teachers via the scheduling plugin. The admins will be able to see all the assigned teachers of the course via “Update Course Teacher(s)” button or the teacher icon of the individual course on the Periods page of the Radix Scheduling.
Show all students on the Late work grading page for SBAs
IMPROVEMENT SBA & GRADING TEACHERS
School admins can set it to show all students on the late work grading screen for an SBA activity. This is a setting that can be turned on/off via Radix Grade Settings.
Downloadable GPA report in transcript plugin
IMPROVEMENT TRANSCRIPT ADMINS
School admins can download a cumulative GPA report in the transcript plugin.
SIS to Radix LMS Data Synchronization
NEW FEATURE DATA INTEGRATIONADMINS
The last phase of this project to integrate courses, master schedules, and student schedules has been completed and is ready to be implemented next school year. With this feature, the school admins will not have to spend any time importing data to LMS. All updates they do on their SIS will automatically be integrated into their Radix LMS. This feature requires the SIS to generate CSV import formats and transfer them to our servers every night.
Weekly & Daily progress emails
IMPROVEMENT PROGRESS EMAILS STUDENTS, PARENTS & ADMINS
Show/Hide Course Average: School admins can show/hide the course averages in the academic summary section of the progress emails sent to parents and students.
User Preferences: Parents and students can opt out of these emails via user preferences. School admins will have to make sure this is allowed for all users.
Other improvements and bug fixes
IMPROVEMENT GENERAL ALL USERS
Assignment reports - We excluded extra credit assignments from "failing" and "ungraded" counts on the assignment report.
Student contacts/parents - All student contacts (parents/guardians) can be downloaded in CSV format via User >> Student.
Behavior overview report - A date filter is added to the behavior overview report to be able to generate the data based on a specific date range.
Parent Portal - Parents will not have access to their student’s information if they do not have custody of them.
Attendance - The grade level issue on the attendance student monitor has been fixed
Attendance - The attendance status on the student monitor has been updated to reflect “Not taken” and “No session”. If the session’s course do not have a teacher assigned, it will show “Missing teacher”
Course settings - The weight in the course settings and in the universal course code directory have been consolidated. If weight is left blank in the course settings, one in the course code directory will be used.
Lesson plans - We now excluded the unofficial courses from the lesson plan weekly submission report
