Radix LMS Updates - April 2026

These updates focus on introducing Radix AI Tools, stabilizing key workflows (report cards, admissions, SBA), and improving usability across grading, dashboards, scheduling, behavior management, and parent experiences.

New Features and Functionalities 🆕

🤖 Introducing Radix AI Tools

This release marks the debut of Radix AI Tools — a suite of AI-powered capabilities designed to save teachers time and enhance the learning experience.

  • AI-Assisted Grading & Feedback — Generate AI-powered feedback directly from the single grading page using the “generate text” modal. AI Grader reads student submissions, applies your instructions and rubric, and generates a suggested grade along with constructive, student-friendly feedback — all for you to review, edit, and approve before anything reaches students.

  • AI Image Generation — Create images within Radix, now future-proofed with support for non–DALL·E models and b64_json responses for broader Azure/OpenAI compatibility.

  • AI Lesson Plans — Improved prompts and guidance for generating lesson plan outlines. Azure AI now correctly applies system instructions, and output text is converted to a clean, human-readable format.

  • AI Text Generation – In all Radix LMS activities, such as Assignments, SBAs, Forums, the AI tool provides a guided form instead of only asking for a prompt.

  • Granular AI Controls — Enable or disable AI capabilities at the course and activity level for the students.


Improvements to Existing Features plus

Report Cards

  • Summary page improvements including name overlap handling and course visibility rules for non–grading-category courses.

  • Summary page logo rendering corrected.

Grading UI

  • Shorter online text and file submission previews to reduce clutter.

  • Submission status filtering UI with clearer indicators.

  • Direct “Grade” icon shown when it is the only action (replacing the 3‑dot menu).

  • Copy feature for text submissions for easier review.

Behavior & Discipline

  • Behavior overview report refinements with clearer columns and filters.

  • Voided/reset points now visible and filterable; clear indication on entries.

  • Run period dates added to the resolution filter.

  • Consequence count added to admin letters; improved strings across the workflow.

  • Show last consequence and received date on resolution add/edit, including previous consequence context; live refresh of counts after manual resolutions.

SBA (Standards-Based Assessments)

  • Question bank filter UX improvements when building SBAs.

  • Question selections persist across pagination in the question bank modal.

UI/UX Consistency

  • GPA decimals on transcript and student credit details page improvements.

  • Bell schedule page UI refresh.

  • Dashboard assignment lists: clearer sorting labels and icons.

Admissions

  • Application form fields improved on the edit page.

Other

  • Group messaging string update.

  • Parent Portal — “No student” string update.

  • Exclude scale courses from simple GPA calculation.


Bug Fixes check mark

Admissions

  • Eliminated repeated missing static file requests on the Admission page.

  • Resolved slow get_headers() checks in plugin loading.

  • Corrected application form behavior and field type mismatches.

Quickmail

  • Notifications now send reliably.

  • Parent recipients displayed on message details.

  • Fixed compose error for the site course and cleared other QA items.

Parent Experience

  • Student switching on dashboard course grades works as expected.

  • Parents can access their student’s course index page.

  • Verification access code no longer disappears after an error.

Scheduling & Attendance

  • Restored missing periods on the cumulative attendance report filter.

  • Period list sorting by total students now functions correctly.

SBA

  • “Mark missing” correctly respects enrollment date.

  • Standards column on SBA statistics populated.

  • Matching questions with related passages fixed.

  • Students can take SBAs with random questions.

Report Cards

  • Fixed report card generation errors when attendance is present.

  • Non‑official courses no longer appear on report card comments list.

Behavior & Discipline

  • Recognition points filter works in behavior reports.

  • Discipline plugin JS error fixed.

  • Minor consequence count link/filter corrected.

  • Intervention list UI issue on behavior entry form resolved.

Grading & Assignments

  • Horizontal scroll/overlap issues in grading fixed.

  • Extra credit prefix [EC] now displays on the course page.

  • Detailed assignment report missing string added.

  • Cronjob warning for assignments addressed.

  • “Download all submissions” now respects the status filter.

  • Achievement report — empty grades setting works.

Platform & Core

  • Cronjob concurrency limit warning resolved; cron continues post-upgrade.

  • Required library error in cron fixed.

  • Top navigation dropdown behavior corrected.

  • School overview “Hear” chart loads properly.

  • Benchmark plugin libraries restored.

  • String warnings from QA pass addressed.

  • Unwanted navigation menu item removed.

  • Students no longer placed in multiple grade-level groups in the site course.

  • SIS Sync no longer clears data on empty file input.

  • Contact request acceptance error fixed.

  • Empty fields on lesson plan preview corrected.

Backup & Restore

  • Course backup/restore now includes the schedule and bellscheduleperiod fields.

Question Bank

  • Question import now brings in state standard fields.

🛠️ Technical Changes

  • Platform core upgrades on the 5.1 line: upgrades to versions 5.1.1, 5.1.2, and 5.1.3.

  • Theme and plugin updates completed during QA.
