Student Quick Guide

This guide helps students get started in Radix LMS. It covers how to log in, understand the dashboard, open courses, find course materials, and know where to go for assignments, messages, notifications, and mobile access.

Logging in

Your school will provide your Radix LMS login information. This may be a username and password, a school email sign-in option, or another login method used by your school.

  1. Go to your school's Radix LMS site. The Radix LMS site is usually a school-specific Radix URL, such as schoolname.radixlms.com. It may be different from your school's main website.

  2. Enter the username and password provided by your school, or choose the school-approved sign-in option if one is shown.

  3. After you log in, you will usually land on your student dashboard.

Need help signing in? Schools manage student passwords. If you forgot your password, your login does not work, or your account is locked, contact your teacher, school office, or school technology support team. Do not create a parent account to access student activities.

After logging in, students are usually directed to the dashboard. The dashboard gives you quick access to courses, assignments, grades, attendance, messages, notifications, and other school tools. The screenshots below show common dashboard areas. Your school may show slightly different blocks depending on the features it uses.

Block Drawer

The block drawer area is the place you can find the quick links, site news, calendar, upcoming events, and user files. There may be other blocks added in this area by your school administration. You can open your blocks drawer by clicking on the arrow shown below.

The Radix Dashboard shows the assignment, behavior and attendance snapshots on top. Clicking on the numbers will take you to the detailed list of those categories. You can also access your report cards page from these tabs.

The student's current grade average for the current and past terms can be found in my grades section in a graphical format. Clicking on the bars in the graph will take you to the grades summary page where you can check the detailed grades for each course.

If administered at your school, standards performance by proficiency zones will show the student's performance on the latest benchmark tests. Click on the bars to access the detailed report.

The main dashboard area now includes a calendar after standards performance. The calendar brings together site events, course events, and dated course activities such as assignments, quizzes, or other items with due dates.

You can use the calendar to see what is coming up, click an event or activity to open it directly, and filter the calendar by course so you can focus on one class at a time.

What to check on your dashboard

  • Top navigation bar: Use this area to return to the dashboard, open Site home, open My courses, search the site, check notifications and messages, and open your user menu.

  • Recent menu: Quickly return to courses and pages you opened recently.

  • Block drawer: Open this area to find blocks such as quick links, calendar, upcoming events, site news, and user files. Your school may add other helpful blocks here.

  • Radix Dashboard snapshots: Review assignment, attendance, behavior, grade, and report card information when these features are used by your school. Clicking numbers or cards usually opens more details.

  • My Grades: View current and past term averages in a graph. Click a bar to open more detailed grade information for a course.

Inside a course

After opening a course, you will see the materials and activities your teacher has added. Each course may look a little different, but most courses are organized by weeks, topics, units, or modules.

  • Course sections: Look through each section to find the correct week, topic, or unit.

  • Assignments and activities: Click an activity name to open instructions, due dates, submission status, grades, or feedback.

  • Resources: Teachers may post files, pages, links, videos, or other learning materials for you to review.

  • Forums: Some courses include discussion forums where you can read posts, reply to your teacher or classmates, or start a new discussion if your teacher allows it.

  • Quizzes or SBAs: If your teacher adds a quiz or standards-based assessment, open it from the course page and carefully read the instructions, time limits, and attempt rules before starting.

  • Completion checkmarks: Some courses show completion boxes or checkmarks next to activities. These help you see what is finished and what still needs attention.

Tip: If you cannot find an assignment, quiz, resource, or forum, first check the course sections and due dates. If you still cannot find it, ask your teacher for help.

Submitting assignments

When you open an assignment, review the description, due date, submission status, and grading status. Depending on how your teacher set up the assignment, you may submit a file, type your answer online, add comments, or upload work from Google Drive or OneDrive if your school has enabled those options.

For step-by-step instructions, see the Assignment Submission guide.

Using messages, notifications, and the mobile app

  • Messages: If allowed by your school, you can send and receive messages in Radix LMS. New messages appear from the messaging icon at the top of the page.

  • Notifications: Notifications may alert you about assignments, grades, feedback, forums, badges, attendance, or behavior updates depending on your school's settings.

Access to your messages and notifications
  • Mobile app: You can use the Radix Mobile app to access courses, receive notifications, submit assignments, participate in forums, take quizzes, and message teachers when these features are enabled by your school.

  • If an assignment, quiz, or resource is missing, ask your teacher to confirm where it is posted.

  • If you cannot submit work, check the due date, file type, internet connection, and whether the assignment allows more changes.

  • If grades, attendance, behavior, or report cards do not look correct, contact your teacher or school office.
